Jazz Fest Postponed Until Fall

New Orleans’ Jazz & Heritage Festival Postponed due to  COVID-19

Its not the first festival that has had to postpone their events due to growing cases and concerns of Coronavirus. Earlier this month we reported the cancellation of Austin Texas’ SXSW music festival. Boscov’s Berks Jazz Fest has re-scheduled all of their 2020 artists to 2021, but Jazz Fest has decided to postpone their festival until the fall.

Exact dates for Fall Jazz Fest have not yet been announced, but are expected to be released to the public soon. This is another beloved annual music festival that musicians and fans travel all over the world to attend. Its always been in Spring (last week of April, first week of May), but not this year.

Jazz Fest 2020 Postponed

Jazz Fest aficionados know there is no other festival quite like this one. There are no campgrounds on site- the festival grounds are opened during the day and the final performances wrap up in the early evening, allowing the visitors plenty of time at night to eat dinner downtown, see after parties in the French Quarter, explore new bars in the Garden District and more. The Festival Grounds are notorious for having the best vendors and festival food because its all a taste of New Orleans style cuisine! Instead of grilled cheese, think Mufaletta and Po Boys.

At least for now, this famous jazz festival isn’t cancelled for 2020. It is merely postponed for the Fall for public health and safety surrounding the current conditions of COVID-19.

New Orleans’ Jazz Fast 2020 Postponed Until Fall

The entertainment industry is still continuing to struggle. Artists are out of work (income) for months or maybe even the rest of the year. Venues have all closed their doors to limit public gatherings, putting their staff out of jobs and leaving the owners unsure of how to pay rent. Managers and Agents are scrambling to re-schedule events, but they aren’t getting paid.

While you’re practicing social distancing at home, be sure to check out some live streams of artists to keep involved, keep the music going and spread love to your favorite artists! We need each other now more than ever!
